Eliza began rowing in 2001 in high school at Northfield Mount Hermon School in Western Massachusetts. She went on to compete at the collegiate level at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts, served as captain as of the team for two years, and competed at the 2006 and 2009 NCAA DIII Championships, placing 4th, and 6th, respectively. She was also named a 2nd team All-American in 2008, and a 1st team All-American in 2009, as well as NEWMAC all-conference in 2009.
In addition to her collegiate experience, she attended two USRowing Development summer camps in 2006 and 2007, and also competed for the New York Athletic Club during the summer of 2008. Eliza currently rows with the High Performance Group at Riverside Boat Club.
A Government major and an Exercise and Sport Studies minor, Eliza plans to continue her education in Boston, with the aim of advocating for girls’ and womens’ rights in athletics.
