Keir grew up in Manchester, MA where he attended high school and was a three sport athlete, playing golf, basketball, and tennis. He started his rowing career as a novice walk on during his freshman year at Yale University. There, his favorite event in which he participated was the annual Yale-Harvard Boat race held in Gales Ferry, CT. It is a four-mile head to head contest between the two universities that has been held each year since 1862. Keir spent most of his time racing in the second varsity boat, rowing at the EARC Eastern Sprints and National IRA regattas each year. Graduating in 2009 with a degree in architecture, Keir moved to Boston to continue rowing at Riverside Boat Club with the open-weight Men’s Sweep team and to coach at CRI. He recently participated in the Golden Boat Regatta in Moscow, Russia with the Yale alumni crew, taking fourth place over Oxford University. He is excited to continue in the sport of rowing not only as an athlete, but also to give back as a Coach.
