Libby joined CRI in the fall of 2009, and is excited to make use of her previous coaching experience while working with the Novice Girls program.
After unsuccessfully playing several other sports, Libby was talked into trying rowing by her father during her junior year in high school. Despite flipping her single during the first practice, she stuck with it and began sculling for the Narragansett Boat Club in Providence, RI.
She went on to attend Brown University, where she studied Biology and Psychology, with an eye towards medical school. As an undergrad, she helped publish research on infant development, and also worked for her local fire department as an EMT.
Libby rowed all four years at Brown, winning gold at the EAWRC “Eastern Sprints” three times, and capturing a silver medal at the 2005 Head of the Charles. She was also honored twice at the White House after winning the NCAA National Championship in both 2007 and 2008.
Libby is currently enjoying teaching at a treatment center for troubled boys, and spends her free time cooking, reading, and rowing out of Riverside Boat Club.
