MJ Curry began rowing at the Belmont Hill School in 1995. He went on to row at Boston College, where he was a member of the varsity lightweight team and serevd as team captain his senior. He was invited to participate in the US National Team Under-23 selction camp and competed at the New York Athletic Club and Riverside Boat Club. In that time he won several US National Championships and Canadian Henley Titles.

MJ began coaching at Belmont Hill in 1999. He coached at Boston College for six years, working as the Head Coach of Men’s Rowing for 5 years. In that time his varsity lightweight eight won Dad Vails and ECAC’s twice, and set a course record in the process. After coaching at Boston College, MJ went on to serve as the Volunteer Assistant Coach for the Haravrd Lightweights during the 2006-2007 season.

At CRI MJ worked as the Director of Operations for two years and has coached nearly every program that is offered. Currently, he is the Head Coach of the Women’s Competitive Team, coaches sculling classes/private lessons and coaches the adult winter training program.
