Boat Storage

WELCOME!!

Personal Boat Owners (PBO) are a important part of Community Rowing.  They are a dedicated and motivated group of rowers that are fast to volulnteer and help where they can.  Sure the mandatory 12 hours of service each year helps to inspire but many end up doing far more hours of service than that each year.

Boats are stored in the Ruth B. Somerville sculing pavilion famous for it’s design.  The building was designed with four glass walls to symbolize the welcoming and wide open atmosphere we strive for at Community Rowing.  Currently there are 42 occupied personal boat racks.

In order to keep a personal boat at Community Rowing owners must meet a mileage and volunteer hour requirement each year.  Every PBO must complete 12 hours of service to the club my November 15th of 2009.  For a list of volunteer opportunities please check the online postings.  The mileage requirement is 250 miles per boat.  If you have an injury, illness, or another reason that keeps you off the water please let us know and we will make decisions on a case by case basis.

Personal Boat Owners Wait List

Anyone wishing to keep a personal boat at Community Rowing must put there name on the wait list.   There are two requirements of wait listers; service to the club and active in another program.  Every person on the wait list must complete 12 hours of service to the club my November 15th of 2009 and be active in another Community Rowing program.

If you would like to be added to the wait list please be in touch with Ryan Banks ryan@communityrowing.org When your number is called you have 30 days to bring a boat into the boathouse or show a receipt for a shell that you have ordered.  If you are in the top spot on the list it is a good idea to start shopping for a boat.
