Boathouse Facilities and Equipment

Located on the Charles River, an internationally recognized attraction for rowing and a gem within the Massachusetts park system, Community Rowing, Inc. was the first public rowing club in Boston and remains one of the largest in the United States. CRI is committed to its mission of enriching the community and providing broad-based programs for novice to elite youth and adults.

Use of the boathouse facilities and equipment is available to all members of CRI. While we don’t have membership “dues,” we ask that all participants, youth and adult, pay a facilities fee, which allows us to maintain the boathouse and keep the building open and available to rowers seven days a week. Please be aware that regularly scheduled programs and classes have priority for use of space and equipment.

CRI gym facilities include locker rooms, a weight room, spin bikes, and more than 50 rowing machines in our spacious Community Room, which is filled with natural light and overlooks the river.

Rowers who car-top their own boats to the boathouse have access to our docks for launching.
