Recreational programs are for youth looking to row on the Charles River. Community Rowing Inc. offers an in-depth experience on the Charles for youth 12 years of age or older. Starting with our Learn to Row program participants experience the excitement of this classic leisure sport. Classes begin in the barge, reinforcing basic skills and knowledge of rowing, and graduate into the eight person shells after a few sessions! Rowers take turns in the coxswain seat to help their fellow classmates navigate the river safely. Once rowers complete the learn to row program they can progress onto Skills Development, Crew League, and Novice Competitive Rowing.
Attendance Requirement
Good attendance is crucial to safety and maximum learning. Rowers must attend all classes during the first two weeks of a term, and are encouraged to choose another term if they cannot commit to a minimum of 80% class attendance overall.
Registration Details: Registration for youth is not complete until you submit your child’s Participant Health Release Form. This form will be sent to you in your registration confirmation email.
All rowers must have a swim test on file at CRI.
All rowers must be a COMMUNITY SUPPORTER to participate. What is this?
