Janice Hagerman

Row Boston Head Coach

Janice started rowing as a freshman in high school at Essex Rowing Club in Methuen, MA, in 2012. She was recruited to row for the Boston University Lightweights under Malcolm Doldron from 2015-2019.

During her career at BU, Janice spent three years as team captain, earned three silver medals and one bronze medal at the IRA, and, as of 2019, has been the only BU athlete to have been awarded All-American Honors all four years. She represented the United States in the under-23 lightweight women's quad during the summers of 2017 and 2018. She now rows for Riverside's Women's Sweeps program. While her rowing roots are in sculling, Janice loves a fast eight more than anything.

Janice joined CRI and the Row Boston staff in November 2019 as the Varsity Boys coach. Since then, she has played a strong supporting role in helping the team navigate the pandemic through coaching, tutoring, and transportation. Her work mirrors her passion for social justice and providing opportunities to make rowing accessible to all young people in Boston's community.
