Military Rowing

Community Rowing Inc. (CRI) offers state-of-the-art facilities, equipment, and experienced coaching staff to provide a variety of rowing programs to all active duty, reserve service members, national guard, military veterans, and families from every branch and era of military service.

Our facilities are fully accessible and CRI welcomes those of all ages, abilities, and experience levels. Through generous community and foundation support, veterans, active duty service members, and their families are able to participate in CRI military and veteran programming free of charge.

Military Sweeps:

This program teaches the basics of team sweep rowing in a coed setting for those interested in a fun and challenging training program with competition. Participants start by learning the basics of the rowing stroke and join experienced military and veteran rowers as confidence and abilities improve.

Sculling/Para Sculling:

This program includes indoor and on-water rowing for fitness and recreation in sculling boats. Experienced staff and volunteers work with rowers in small boats (one or two-person shells) to build skills on an individual basis. Adaptations to equipment can be made for disabilities, including: sensory impairment, spinal cord injuries, multiple sclerosis, amputees, traumatic brain injuries, social/emotional impairments, cognitive disabilities and other.

VA Out-Patient Recreational Therapy Sculling/Sweeps

(small group programs arranged through local VA facilities with CRI staff)

Open Family Sculling

Veterans may bring an additional family member (13+ years old)  to our Sunday sculling class.

Open Military, Veterans, Friends and Family Sculling:

Military and veterans may bring friends and family to this sculling class, as they learn on a week-to-week basis.

  2. Fill out our Military Intake Form Here
  3. If you have a disability that requires accommodation, please also fill out the intake registration for new members, and one of our staff will set up a time for you to come in and review your equipment and connect you to the program that best suits your needs.
